Sector 1600
Planet 1601
January 17, 2052
In the main boardroom of
NB Central, a few officers had already arrived early to discuss the
newly recovered intelligence obtained from the VEGA corporation.
“This is impossible.”
Preez sat down into his seat as he looked at images taken by Wicker
on his mission on the projector.
“New VEGA ships to
counter the increasing threats on their ships?” Stein fiddled with
his pen nervously as the thought of new ships destroying his fleet
gave him the chills.
“That is correct.”
Wicker crossed his arms and laid back on his chair.
The main door opened and
two senior officers accompanied by Lieutenant Franklin stormed in and
sat the ends of the table. The big man who had markings of Vice
Admiral appeared to be of age and experience. His white complexion
was covered by a clean beard and an officer's cap covering the top
half of his forehead covering his hair. The left side of his chest
was decorated with military medals and a name pin marked “Owens.”
“Gentlemen.” Owens
touched the tip of his cap in acknowledgement of the other officers
in the room.
As Franklin sat down
beside Owens and passed him a thick briefing folder, the other senior
officer who appeared to completely contrast Owens in size sat down
comfortably in his seat. He was a tall asian man with fair skin that
appeared to be quite young for his rank of Admiral, but equally
decorated as Owens. He removed his officer's cap and placed it on the
desk in front of him revealing his dark black hair. Despite his name
pin stating “Chu” on his uniform, he was very comfortable with
his people addressing him by his first name, Charlie, simply because
he wanted to level himself with anyone on his NB team.
“Sir, Commander Jaimes
won't make it in time for this meeting” Price excused himself as he
entered the room silently and relayed the message to Charlie.
“It's alright. I'll
debrief him later.” Charlie nodded and Price hurried out of the
room.
“Shall we begin
Charlie?” Franklin flashed a smile as she looked at her watch.
“Of course.” Charlie
stood up and activated a hologram projection of a weird looking
spaceship at the centre of the table.
“What the hell is
that?' Stein observed the menacing ship as it turned in projection.
“Looks like a sleeker
version of the Revelation cruiser.” Wicker commented.
“It's an assault
cruiser class able to load four weapons, two shield generators, and
pack tons of armour while being faster than the Revelations.
Gentlemen, we are facing a new threat that could wipe the existence
of the rebellion.” Owens briefed.
“That folks...is the
Apocrypha Cruiser.” Charlie stared at the hologram projection with
crossed arms.
